TOR.MEC AMBROSI - 5 axis machining company

5 AXES

  Today TOR.MEC Ambrosi relies heavily on multi-axis technology machining to pursue its expansion strategy.
The introduction of HSM machines for 5-axis continuous high-speed machining has given the company a considerable boost, enabling it to enter technologically advanced sectors such as aerospace research, biomedicine and motor sport.

HSM = High Speed Machining

TOR.MEC Ambrosi uses 5-axis machines with HSM technology, which means that the parts produced on these machines are processed by the technicians using innovative removal techniques, with small removals by means of specific tooling, high spindle r.p.m., very high speed and acceleration of the linear and rotary axes.
Not all machines offer these features.
TOR.MEC Ambrosi has chosen the machines that respond to this type of approach from the best available on the market, immediately obtaining excellent results

Potential

Parts obtained with 5-axis technology are much more accurate than the same parts produced using several different machines. In addition, the possibility of obtaining complex surface geometries means that 5 axes can be used for new previously unimaginable applications.

Precision

The dimensional precision obtained with the TOR.MEC Ambrosi 5-axis machines is often below 5 microns, the tolerance limit for certain components produced for optical applications.
This result is obtained by careful monitoring of the geometric deformations of the machine caused by thermal variations, compensated for both electronically and physically by the use of specific references (pallet master) which are detected in the work area by means of 3D probes. The bases of the 5-axis machines are single-piece castings made of polymer cement, highly stable thermally and with excellent vibration-damping characteristics.
We are therefore able to produce high-precision components and also surfaces with very low roughness.
